I have seen wing t teams use gap on linebacker as base blocking rules and others use gap down linebacker. Is there a right or wrong answer to this, or is it a choice based on the physical ability of your o-line?

Coach, I believe it's a little bit of both. But it's also a series thing. In your power series, you want to gap-on-backer... other coaches believe in Fire-On-Backer. When I was at Lasalle, we loved the gap scheme so, we gap-down-backer blocked our power series as well, and it still worked for us. Metz
