Coaches, Outside of playaction passes, I use two forms for pass protection: Fan and step and hinge. Step and hinge, I use with our 3-step game. Fan, I use with our 5 and 7 step games. My question is, how many of your separarte the blocking scheme for 5 and 7 step schemes? Does anyone use a third blocking protection? Metz

We teach 6 man half-slide for dropbacks and PAP. We also have a sprintout protection that's a full reach 6 man pro. Both of these have the ability to be "loaded" with a 7th man (Diveback or TE).
We put our RB double-checking away from the call side, i.e. "Roger" means O-line if half-slide rt, BST is man on DE, RB has double-check BS (left) B/C gap. In PAP, we have the o-line call the protection away from the hole we're faking to, i.e. Belly RT would result in "Louie" protection and put's the FB double checking after his belly fake.
I'VE FOUND IT MUCH EASIER TO STREAMLINE TO MAKE THE FAT GUYS' JOBS EASIER!
