I will be running the wing I this season with 7 - 9 year olds. I want to know if anyone has run the Wing I? Though I do have a nice playbook , I would like to find more material on this offense.

Coach, If you find a site, let us know. I do have a book called "The Complete I-Formation Book" which focuses on the Wing-I. But that book was written in the early 70's and it's out of print. Nothing you shouldn't have already. Metz

Coaches, I found a good book on the Wing I and it is called The Option Wing Offense. It has a lot of good info, not just option stuff. Coach Metz I would like to know more about this type of offensive set in the Wing T offense: .........B.....................B .W...............Q ...E...T...G...C...G...T...E.........(E) I read some material on this set and I believe it was in a book called the Modern Wing - T, not sure.

Coach, Can you clarify the (E) ... is that a potential unbalanced end or are there 12 men on the field there?

Sorry Coach, the E stands for TE, or SE, depending on the alignmnet call. In the diagram (E) is a SE, or bring him in "a little", using a nasty split with a TE. Let me clarify...
.............H....................H
WB...................Q..........(nasty) .....TE...T...G...C...G...T.......TE short side -field- wide side
The perimeter run looks strong with great misdirection , but Curious about the inside runnning (power, traps, etc.)?

Coach, I've seen Jacksonville Bolles run stuff out of that set. They were very heavy on down. But being in a split back set opens up all sorts of split back possibilities. Power, Iso, Counter, quick pitch, trap off of quick pitch, veer. Difficult to run the buck series and a true belly series.

I realize I am well over a year behind on this conversations, but.... I few years back, we stuck mostly to our I package in the Wing T. I can't really give you an exact reason, it's just something we stayed with. We were double tight with straight I and offset I. Tried to keep it very simple. Iso weak and strong, Toss (very similar to SuperPower), Counter with the Wing (similar to DW counter), TB counter, and some PA passes. We ran 5 running plays and had 3 quick passing plays. My best advice is always keep it simple.
