Coach, I am going up in the booth this Friday night for the first time, and our O.C. is moving to the field. What chart can I use up in the box or anything else I can use to chart stuff and get tendencies and etc to help with our play calling. Thanks Coach

Coach, Are you the head coach? If you are...don't go to the booth. If you're a position coach, find out what the OC is looking at during the game, then find out what he can't look for at the same time. Script his plays, you basically want to get Yd line -- d/d --- hash --- formation --- play --- result/notes If you can...get time of possessionAND who made the tackle too... if you're organized: you can pick up tendencies right away. Good luck, Coach. Metz

Coach , I am a position coach. Our O.C. is moving downstairs because he wants to be part more of the field experience. Up in the booth he never kept a chart, but unlike him , I need to be prepared. I want to get as much inofrmation to him as possible. His playcalling has been questioned the last week or so, thats why I need to make sure I am prepared as possible. Any help would be great coach, thanks.

Coach, Then, I would say that scripting his plays would be best part of what you can do. When you can, look for personnel changes. See where you have mismatches. By all means, let him know what is working and not working...Bring a highlighter if you need to and highlight the best plays. Good luck, Metz

I cannot imagine calling plays from the field.
I would take it as a compliment that he is picking YOU to be his eyes in the sky.
