Coaches or Coach Metz, I am trying to untangle the cobwebs in my brain. I am curious how you approach attacking an eight man front. The defense is a 44 mostly cover 3 zone (this is freshman football). On the split end side 3 & 5 technique and on the TE/WB flank they will alternate between a 3 & 7 tech with a 3/5/9 and roll the corner up. Just interested in your game plan devlopment. Thanks.

Coach, Hopefully, you have some sort of option game going, because they sound vulnerable to belly and belly option. You have to establish the belly first. Also, with 2 3techs, trap should work well. Because the ILBs tend to over run it, but when they start shutting that down, they open themselves up for the TE on waggle. Good luck, Metz

Thanks Coach, I stayed away from the option during my early installation. So, I just do not want to get into it with five weeks in the season. I am going to experiment with belly sweep though in place of belly option. Thanks again for your insight. Hope your season is going well.
